生於台中，2005年畢業於國立臺北藝術大學，現工作、居住於台北及德國。曾於德國柏林等地、伊斯坦堡駐村，2015年獲台南新藝獎，作品亦獲文化部藝術銀行購藏。創作關注衰敗廢棄建築空間，藉由數位攝影截取、剪貼、拼貼、再造構築老建築不同角度的水平視野與全景佈局。《消逝的肖像》始於旅德創作期間，將廢墟作為記憶承載體、歷史紀念碑以及時空過往的集合。透過影像創作過程使消逝空間的意義被提升、價值被轉化。重新開啟廢棄空間與城市、歷史對話的可能性，在其衰敗荒蕪之中找尋另一層意義的再生。

LIU Yun Yi, born in Taichung, graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2005. She took artist-in-residence in Berlin and Istanbul, and is currently working and living in Taipei and Germany. LIU was awarded the Next Art Tainan in 2015, and her works became part of the Art Bank Taiwan’s acquisitions. Through capturing, clipping and pasting with digital photography, she focuses on reconstructing abandonments with different horizontal vision and panoramic layout.

“The Vanishing Portraits” series unfolded when she was in Germany. Taking ruins as memories’ carriers as well as historical memorials, the photographic creations raise the space’s meaning and transform its value, reopening conversing possibilities between the ruins and the cities or the history, finding ways to the regeneration of the ruins.
