CHEN Po I, born in 1972 in Chiayi, lives in Tainan currently. He received his master degree in Ocean Engineering in NCKU in 1999. He was actively engaged in photography education as well as in curation. Some of his works are now permanent collections at National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Fine Arts, Kaohsiung and others. In his artwork, he uses lens to express collective memories with documents and objects of remains. In the “Li Hao Motel” series, CHEN filmed the motel that was the product during the rapid economic growth of Taiwan, and reflected the history that remains under the harmony light. Besides, in the artwork “Outlook”, CHEN took window as a connection between human and land, representing truly those Taiwanese ruins' image also.
